Well, here we are again—Election Day! Some of us are probably glued to our screens, refreshing results every ten seconds and biting our nails as numbers come in. Maybe you've been cheering for your candidate, praying that they'll be the one to pull through. Or perhaps you're just relieved that the ads are finally over (we can all say amen to that!).

Today, half the country will celebrate, while the other half might feel a bit defeated. Some of you may be ecstatic because your candidate won; others may be asking, "Where did we go wrong?" But here's a reminder we all need today: no matter who wins or loses, no matter who’s in office, the Lord is still on His throne. Political candidates come and go, and even the best of them will disappoint us at some point. But God? He's steadfast. He doesn’t run for re-election; He reigns forever.

Here’s the truth we can hold onto today and every day:

𝗣𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗺 𝟭𝟰𝟲:𝟯-𝟱 says, "𝘋𝘰 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘱𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴, 𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴, 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦. 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥; 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘉𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘑𝘢𝘤𝘰𝘣, 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘎𝘰𝘥." Political leaders will always have limits. Their terms, their abilities, and even their good intentions are only temporary. But God’s plans are eternal, and they never fail.

𝗛𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝟭𝟯:𝟴 reminds us, "𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘺𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳." While today might bring about some changes, there is One who is unchanging. Christ’s promises don’t sway with the polls or the seasons; they are rock solid. He is the King of kings, and His rule is secure.

And let’s remember this: 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝟭𝟯:𝟭 says, "𝘓𝘦𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘣𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥." This means that, regardless of who wins, God is still working out His purposes. We may not always understand how, but we can trust Him to lead us through it.

So today, if you're feeling elated or if you're feeling let down, remember that our hope and faith aren’t in the results of this election. They are in the One who holds all things together. Today, the Lord still reigns. Today, the tomb is still empty. And today, God is still in control.

And here's something we can all do, no matter which way we voted: 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀. Whether or not they were our choice, Scripture calls us to lift them up in prayer. 𝟭 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝟮:𝟭-𝟮. encourages us to pray "𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘦𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘰𝘥𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴." Let’s pray that God grants them wisdom, discernment, and safety, and that He guides them to lead with justice and integrity.

So be kind to one another, extend grace, and let your hope shine brightly in the One who never lets us down. Keep your faith strong, and remember that, in all things, our God is still sovereign.

Love ya'll!
