This is Our First Post as EMBER FAITH, and New Year’s is right around the corner—a time when many of us start making resolutions. Maybe 2025 is the year you finally stick to a workout plan, eat healthier, or budget better. Perhaps you’ve decided to finish a project, start a new one, or finally make time for that dream vacation. These are great goals! But let’s be real—how many of us will actually keep them past February?
Life has a way of getting in the way. You’re busy juggling work, family, and everything else. Suddenly, it’s been three weeks since you’ve hit the gym. The healthy meal plan? It’s been replaced by the drive-thru on the way to soccer practice. That project? Still sitting right where you left it.
But what if this year we all made a resolution that goes deeper—one that transforms not just our day-to-day lives but also our eternity?

This year, let’s resolve to put God first. First in our lives, first in our homes, first in our work, finances, and communities. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:33, "𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘬 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘥𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶."
When we prioritize God, everything else begins to align. No, it doesn’t mean life will magically be easy or that we’ll crush every goal. But it does mean we’ll be walking in step with His plan, which is far greater than anything we could imagine.

Here are some practical ways to make this resolution stick:
1. 𝗜𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲: Start each day with prayer and scripture, even if it’s just a few minutes. It sets the tone for everything else.
2. 𝗜𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲: Make faith a family affair. Pray together, read the Bible, and talk about God’s blessings with your spouse and kids.
3. 𝗜𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸: Let your work reflect Christ. Colossians 3:23 says, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men."
4. 𝗜𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀: Trust God with what He’s given you. Give generously and support ministries or people in need.
5. 𝗜𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆: Love your neighbor. Show kindness, lend a helping hand, and share the hope of Christ wherever you go.
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘀Unlike resolutions that fade, putting God first changes us from the inside out. It doesn’t just improve our lives here—it prepares us for eternity.
Paul writes in 1 Timothy 4:8, "𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦, 𝘨𝘰𝘥𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘺, 𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦."
So, go ahead and set those personal goals for health, finances, and fun! But let’s not miss the one resolution that truly matters: seeking God first in all things.
This is our prayer for you and for us at EMBER FAITH—that 2025 will be a year where we all burn brighter for Him.
Happy New Year from EMBER FAITH!
Let’s spark a fire for Jesus that never goes out.
