FEARLESS: Part 1 - Fearless in Obedience

Welcome to part 1 of our FEARLESS study. Today we look at Abraham leaving everything behind.

Imagine this: You’ve lived in the same town your whole life. You’ve got your routine, your people, your favorite coffee shop where they know your order before you say it. Then God shows up and says, “Pack it all up. I’ll tell you where we’re going later.”

That’s what happened to Abraham (Abram at the time). God told him to leave everything familiar and go—without a GPS, a destination, or even a hint of what was ahead. The only guarantee? God would be with him.

And Abraham went. No debating, no delay—just fearless obedience.

Let’s be real: obedience can be terrifying. Trusting God when He asks us to step into the unknown? That’s next-level faith. But Abraham shows us that obedience isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about trusting the One who does.

Abraham didn’t wait for a roadmap; he trusted God’s word.

He left behind his safety net, choosing God over comfort.

God didn’t just send Abraham—He led him into a promise far greater than he could have imagined.

Let’s be honest. We hesitate in obedience because:

1. We like control. (But God is better at it than we are.)

2. We’re afraid to fail. (Yet God never sets us up for failure when we follow Him.)

3. We want all the details first. (But faith isn’t about seeing—it’s about trusting.)

• What is one area in your life where God is asking for obedience, but fear is holding you back?

• Have you ever obeyed God in a way that didn’t make sense at the time? What happened?

• How can you trust God more in the unknown?

Step out in obedience this week. Maybe it’s a conversation, a decision, or letting go of something that’s holding you back. Pray, trust, and take the step—just like Abraham.

Bonus Thought: If Abraham had waited for all the details before obeying, we might not be talking about him today. Fearless obedience changes history.
